RAPID FIRE:

    • Grew Up In: Jersey
    • Currently Lives In: North County San Diego, CA
    • Star Sign: Aries
    • Favorite Dessert: Ice Cream – I used to be really into Cold Stone, but I’ve been eating more artisanal ice creams lately, Wynston’s and An’s Hatmakers.
    • Pick One: Jiu Jitsu, Skydiving, Paragliding: Skydiving – it’s been my constant since college, but climbing is becoming a close second now
    • Pancakes or Waffles: Depends on the pancakes but probably waffles
    • Favorite Animal: Otters  – river and sea

How would you describe yourself as a child?

  • Probably a handful for my parents – I was all over the place, running around, riding bikes a lot.
  • I went through probably every sport – basketball, tennis, soccer, those never really stuck. And a bunch of instruments that didn’t really stick – piano, guitar, drums
  • Now I know what I want to do and don’t want to do. I don’t switch hobbies out – I add them on

You started out in finance – how did you transition to becoming an engineer?

  • I ended up double majoring halfway through school in finance and computer science – I took an intro to programming and it was way more fun than the finance classes I was taking, so I started taking more CS courses.
  • I did a finance internship my jr year and realized I hated it and so I had to make the switch to a double major quickly.

What’s a favorite memory from your time at PickTrace?

  • I think favorite memories always come from when we get together with other people. Things like our summer offsites at Fairfield farms and the Engineering Vacathon – I think that was the first time I met most of the Engineering team.
  •  And my first client onsite with Max at Taggares – I learned a lot about our end users and got to meet our clients in-person for the first time.

What are your hobbies and passions outside of work?

  • During the week it’s mostly Jiu Jitstu and climbing and doing hot yoga in the mornings.
  • Weekends are skydiving most of the time and I have a standing Sunday climbing session with friends
  • I try to mix in some of my other hobbies – I try to go flying, practice the wind-tunnel, and paraglide.

What’s the best advice you’ve ever received – or do you have a mantra you live by?

  • “One day your life will flash before your eyes – make sure it’s worth watching” – Gerard Way

If you were a fruit or vegetable what would you be and why?

  • It would be a potato – they’re so versatile, they can be used in so many different ways. There’s no bad way to have potatoes – french fries, baked potatoes, mashed, tater tots, etc. Maybe a couch potato depending on the day.
