PickTrace is proud to be a team of diverse backgrounds, skill sets, and interests. Each month we highlight members of our team to learn about what makes them, and PickTrace, unique.

Get to know our Customer Success Manager, Kalyn Fetta! Since joining PickTrace in early 2019, Kalyn has been vital in ensuring our customers are maximizing the value of PickTrace in their operations. Always ready with a pun and a chuckle, this native Chicagoan truly embodies the sunshine in the PickTrace logo!

Write your autobiography as a tweet (140 characters or less):
Stereotypical extrovert, proud Midwestern, Beyonce wannabe, social impact enthusiast, and sarcastic conversationalist.

Where did you grow up and what is your favorite memory of that place?

I grew up in a northern suburb of Chicago, Northbrook, IL! I’ll always remember my mom, dad, 3 siblings, and I lining up our Benny the Bull mascots in front of the TV each night to watch Michael Jordan carry the Bulls to 6 championships throughout the ’90s. Also, Lou Malnati’s pizza will always have a special place in my heart.

In school, what was your preferred subject and why?
I’m a Math nerd! During my Senior year of high school, I took Calculus and Statistics…BY CHOICE.

How do you like to spend your free time? Any hobbies of note?
I love to travel, volunteer, go to concerts, do yoga, lay on the beach, and sing (but not in public!). I’m a taco, wine, and coffee connoisseur, huge Notre Dame football fan (Go Irish!), and lover of ALL dogs. Shout out to Zuma, our beloved PickTrace office golden doodle!

What’s something most people don’t know about you?

1) I’m a true crime junkie! In another world, I think I’d make a great detective.
2) I still don’t know what happens to Harry Potter because I’ve never read the books or seen the movies
3) I’ve traveled to 5 of the 7 continents and 39 of the 50 states, and I plan to get to the rest of them…even Antarctica!

Before PickTrace, what was your most interesting or unusual job?
I was a special education teacher at an orphanage in rural Mexico, but my students probably taught me more than I taught them … including how to catch, gut, clean, and fry a fish all with your hands and a dull butter knife!

How would you describe your current role to a child?
There are a lot of people who work really hard to get healthy fruit and veggies on our tables — I help those people get paid correctly and work efficiently!

What has been your proudest moment since joining the PT team?

13 fellow PickTracers have joined our team since I started in January. We are growing super fast, and I am so proud of the incredible culture we are building together as a team, the work we are each committed to on a daily basis, and the end goals we are creating and iterating on along the way.

What is your favorite part of working for PickTrace?

I love interacting with our customers every day and hearing their stories about how PickTrace has fundamentally changed the way they operate for the better. They are the ones helping us pave the way to revolutionize the Ag industry, giving us feedback to constantly improve and learn from, and allowing us to serve thousands of farms around the world!

Finally, and most importantly, if you were a piece of produce what would you be and why?

Probably an avocado in the form of spicy guacamole because I come in many forms and am agreeable but not bland!
